Adventures in genetics. Thanks Mom!
It's interesting --you know, what we take from our parents -- isn't it?? For instance, in the Nelson family, the slogan (trademark pending) is "we're leaving when we're supposed to be there", and for me, this seems to include packing. On the other hand, in the Pering family, so far as I can tell, things happen on time and people get packed before the wee hours of the morning...!
All I can think to say is oy vey, and that's not the right language or dialect. [Insert additional bleepity bleep bleep bleeps here]. Oh...and I better get to bed, lest it become time to leave for the airport and I find myself not having slept. Mmmmm....jetlag.....just imagine how much more lucid these posts will become as I make my way eastward.
A piu tarde!

my favorite part of this is that you're holding a corkscrew in the photo. Can't pack, must have final California wine fix before you are in the land of cheap(er) Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera? :)
Hope you made it to Nawlins safely.
